Ghost Asylum now Haunted Towns

Great news for all you fans of Ghost Asylum, the Tennessee Wraith Chasers are returning with 8 new episodes on Destination America this August with their new show renamed Haunted Towns.

Ghost Hunters Fans.com learned of this exclusive announcement from this press release quote.

The Tennessee Wraith Chasers consist of Chris, Doogie, Porter and Brannon, who interview witnesses, investigate hotspots using the latest ghost-hunting technology and follow new leads until they can pinpoint who is haunting the town and why. Their goal is to find out if there is any truth to the stories about each town’s paranormal activity.

Destination America has ordered eight episodes of the series, which is set to premiere at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Haunted Towns is about so much more than ghost stories. It’s about places of deep historical significance, where stories of hauntings are passed down over generations. Is it simply folklore, or is it true? We want to find out what is really going on in these towns,” said Jane Latman, general manager of Destination America. “With extensive experience investigating both legendary asylums and — in their pre-TV days — private homes, no team is more prepared for the challenge of confirming the ghostly lore of an entire town than our beloved Tennessee Wraith Chasers.”

The series premiere finds the team in Gettysburg, Penn., where more than 51,000 soldiers lost their lives during the epic Civil War epic battle. Other episodes this season investigate the legendary Salem, Mass.; Savannah, Ga., where hauntings have been reported around a former gallows site; Vicksburg, Miss., a site of unrest during Reconstruction; Bisbee, Ariz., an old mining town; Fall River, Mass., home of Lizzie Borden; McDonough, Ga., site of the 1900 Camp Creek train crash that killed dozens of passengers; and Cape May, N.J., the center of the Victorian Era’s Spiritualism movement.

The premiere also will be available to watch online Aug. 7 on Destination America’s TV Everywhere app.

Haunted Towns is produced for Destination America by Tremendous! Entertainment (Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern, Rock the Park), with Colleen Needles Steward, Shannon Keenan Demers and Devon Platte as executive producers. For Destination America, Fay Yu is executive
