Travel Channel’s Haunted Live with Tennessee Wraith Chasers puts out a call for ghost hunters. What does the prey say?

Travel Channel’s interactive paranormal investigation series Haunted Live is putting out a calling all for ghost hunters. Ghosts, on the other hand, are getting pretty annoyed with all the attention they’ve been getting since televised ghost hunts became a thing. Here they are, enjoying a leisurely afterlife when, boom, along comes to some group like the Tennessee Wraith Chasers promising “a thrilling, suspenseful and interactive” experience,” when all the formerly living wanted to do was avoid going over to the other side. Travel Channel’s Haunted Live premieres on Friday, September 14 at 10 p.m.

The paranormal investigation series invites viewers to drive the course of the live show in real time, alongside paranormal experts who combine scientific methods and spiritual faith to navigate its investigations. The team is made up of Chris Smith, Steven “Doogie” McDougal, Scott Porter, Brannon Smith and Mike Goncalves.

Each week, the team reveals “a new haunted location to the public, keeping it under wraps until the investigation begins to avoid interference or contamination,” according to their press. “Then, team members utilize their skills, technology and unique experiments to capture evidence of paranormal activity in a live and unfiltered paranormal investigation.

“This is going to be the ultimate paranormal experience,” said Chris Smith, founder, Tennessee Wraith Chasers. “It’s like nothing that’s ever been done before in this field and on this level. We have such a loyal and passionate fan base. With their eyes and ears added to each investigation, there’s no telling what we could uncover. Board the Wraith Train, strap in tight and enjoy the ride.”

Viewers monitor all of the Haunted Live  activity on Travel Channel’s FacebookLive platform Through an on-location live video stream. They can comment on any findings in real time, directing the team where to investigate next. “What’s truly unique about this series is that viewer participation will help steer the investigation,” Jane Latman, general manager, Travel Channel, said in a statement. “Keen eyes at home can actually influence the outcome of the show – and we know our ghost-obsessed audience will love their front row seat on an in-the-moment haunted tour with the fearless team.”

The weekly show will feature the paranormal investigative team the Tennessee Wraith Chasers. TWC’s motto is respect, detect, collect, meaning they rely on a unique combination of scientific method and spiritual faith to navigate investigations.

Each of the 10 hour-long live episodes will feature a “live and unfiltered paranormal investigation in a secret haunted location, where viewers are invited to join the action and drive the course of the show,” according to the official synopsis. “Each week, the team will reveal a different haunt where they will utilize their skills, technology and unique experiments to capture evidence of paranormal activity.”

“We’re thrilled to introduce Travel Channel viewers to the Tennessee Wraith Chasers, who will immerse fans and amateur ghost hunters in an intense and suspenseful live event every week,” Latman said when the show was first greenlit.

The Wraith Chasers made their television debut as the stars of Destination America’s Ghost Asylum series, where they investigated America’s most frightening asylums, sanitariums, penitentiaries and haunted hotspots.

“Growing up in a historic, and some say haunted, area of Tennessee has given them an authentic desire to make sense of the mysterious things they’ve experienced through paranormal research,” reads a press statement. “They take great pride in establishing trusted relationships with witnesses and call on the strengths of each team member to leave no stone unturned.

The Tennessee Wraith Chasers probed many acclaimed paranormally active historical sites, residential properties and public conglomerates including Old South Pittsburg Hospital of Pittsburg, TN and All access Coach Bus Leasing of Gallatin, TN.

TWC was founded in November of 2009 by Lead Investigator Christopher Smith. Steven McDougal joined TWC as acting Case Manager in January of 2010. Historian and head of research, Scott Porter joined the team along with Investigator and aspiring physicist, Brannon Smith later on that year. In August of 2011 Sumner County native Chasey Ray McKnight joined the team as acting equipment tech and trap fabricator.
